Two tape recorders have been made available for student use, and a student’s book store is open during all library periods. James E. Griggs Joan McCament Mr. Griggs explains how to use the Library c v An informal Art class supervised by Mi’s. McCament The Art Department, added to Paxton’s curriculum this year, offers new opportunities to art enthusiasts. A spring art exhibit, a trip to Kran-nert Art Museum, and participation in the Scholastic Art Contest in Champaign have been activities of the classes this year. 21

A greater variety of spring activities has enabled the Concert Band to play in several area schools. Concert Band under the direction of Mr. Hart Jerome P. Presently the boys are held respon- sible for individual projects. Accurate records of all expenses and essential information concerning the project must be kept. In some cases, students who qualify for “on-the-job” training receive actual experience by working on the farm under supervision. This unique and well-rounded course of study produces many fine young future farmers. 22
