, , A L 7 Our Ultimate Goal ..... ln the midst of an expanding metropolis, Paxon is growing with the city. ln the 1960 Delphian we have attempted through pictures and words to show a portion of the development and expansion of hoth. For nearly a quarter of a century, jacksonville had been served hy only three senior high schools: then, in 1954, Paxon High School was completed. An onrush of construction of other high schools followed, an onrush which has not yet slowed down. In a relatively short time, Paxon has come to the fore as a prominent and important part of our community and city.

' for 'R ,sa- Hanging in the main office is the architect's original drawing. which was given to Paxon by the Duval County School Board just this year. The drawing includes a modernistic auditorium and gymnasium, extras that were not constructed in 1954: however. their addition has been made pos- sible by the recent passage of the school bond issue. The drawing is sym- bolic of our ultimate goal, for it represents our many objectives.
