it I ws K H---...M Taking 'idx antage of Mr Harriss make shift sound laboratory, these students listen to the translation of a story in Spanish Foreign Languages The languages, which are a major portion of the academic curriculum at Paxon, are considered the most usable for our local- ity. Spanish is the most popular because of our close relations with the Spanish- speaking countries: French and Latin are traditional college preparatory courses. Students beginning the study of foreign languages find it first interesting, then wor- risome, because they find it diflicult to grasp the many techniques necessary for speaking fluently. As they progress into their second year, the assignments become more understandable. and interest is re- newed. Breezing through the conjugation of Latin verbs, Pat Fain and Rhoda Asher lack space rather than knowl- edge.
