VVith a Ram close behind, Pete Carter looks for blocking. PAXON 21 RIBAULT 12 A penalty-marred heginning soon turned into a fast-moving offense when passes from lfagle quarterback Jim Parham to halfback Pete Carter accounted for our first touchdown and extra point. Ribault retaliated in the second quarter with a TD but their PAT attempt failed. Early in the second half, Carter starred with two scoring runs that put the ljagles ahead to stay. In the final minutes, the ilirojans ral- lied for another TD but time ran out and the Eagles had their first win of the SCZISOII. 'JUS PAXON 12 ENGLFXVOOD 47 The injury-plagued Paxon lfagles took on Englewood at Ram Field before a near- capacity crowd. Englewood astonished the crowd with a swiftly moving offense that scored twice in the first quarter. The Eagles were hemmed in while the Rams scored again and again. The bewildered Eagles recovered some of their pride mid- way in the second half when a 75-yard pass play from Parham to Carter connected for our second and final TD. Dominating the entire game, thc Rams handed the Eagles their worst defeat in six years. i ff Co-captains XVavne Breese, a powerful tackle, and jim Parham a strong-armed quarterback, continuously encouraged the team

Quarterback jim Parham P.-XXON 20 BOLLFS 14 ,Xn inspirited group of Bolles Cadets came to the lfagles' Nest spoiling for an upset of the favored lfagles. The large Tlome- coming crowd gasped when the Cadets raced to an early TD, then held Paxon scoreless until late in the first half. The Fagles hroke loose and scored on an Il- yard pass from Parham to Swillev. in the third quarter Parham ran two quick touch- downs to put our score hevond their reach. Bolles managed a futile scoring drive in the last few minutes. -cramhles away fro , ,.,..-.- . .-.-,vw na.. , '-r ' m the onrushing Cadet linemen. P.-XXON 6 ITLETCIIFR 21 The lfagles struck hard in the opening moments of the game when Putman took a six-pointer. Not to he outdone, Fletcher scored twice before the half. Paxon came hack in the next period with a stout de- fense to hold Fletcher scoreless. Late in the final quarter, however, the Senators hit pavdirt once more. The Fagles' sput- tering offense could not move and the huge partisan crowd left to drown their sorrows in root heer. XVin or lose, Paxonites support the Eagles with cheers and undivided attention.
