USHUWBUI-XT A group of Southern debutantes were headed for a gay time in New Orleans. Through an unforgiv- able error by one deb, the group finds themselves on a boat going the wrong way. XY'ith guile and flattery, they persuade the Captain to turn his Show- boat, the Southern Belle, toward New Orleans. The trip down the Mississippi is eventful and hilari- ous but is overshadowed by the :altercation of the hotel cleaners after the debs reach New Orleans. The debs are played by Peggy Bowen, Mary Ann Knight, Shirley Loadholtz, Myrick twins, Theresa Tasso, and Janice Wills. The Captain of the South- ern Belle is Jackie Thurm and the Steward is Nancy Griffin. The chorus line members are Nancy Hig- don, Betty Lou Lloyd, Gayle Goff, Donna XX'illiamson, Mary Louise Brown, Eloise Bone, Marianne Higgin- botham, Shirley Langford, Jean Chung, and Jeanette Riley. The hotel cleaners are Shirley Colley, Naomi Stolarski, Norma Singletary, and Rosalyn Brannen. The script was written by Kristen Bracewell, Mary Louise Brown, Marlene Thomas and Irene Blair. The play was produced under che able supervision of stu- dent director Ann Bandy and faculty directors. Mrs. Granger and Mrs. Lewis. The usherertes were: Betty Bunch, Irene Blair, Nancy Sorrow, Mary Claypool, Carolyn Conner, Sue Ann Heaton, and Helen Prather. While the debs are out shopping, the hotel cleaners cut capers. Gullberry fNaomi Stolarskil and Samson fNor'ma Singletaryl fight over Lulu CShirley Colleyl until some- thing better shows up fRosalyn Brannenj. The chorus line of the Southern Belle rehearses for their part in the opening moments of the show. While munching her candy, Janice Wills is amused as Ther- T H E N T H E S H O W G O E S O N esa Tassn scolds Shirley Load- holtz for purchasing the wrong tickets.
