Banners, handouts, leaflets, canvassing, referendum rally weren't enough to pass the tax increase. Mr. Sandstrom, principal, points out that the school and its activities are the hub of Pawnee. Mike DeGroot, Student Council Referendum Rally held Feb. 16, 1985 President, voices why it’s important to offer extracurricular activities at the high school level. With the failure of the tax referendum Tuesday, Feb. 26th, further students, programs, people will be affected. By a margin of 626 to 553, voters again rejected the 3rd proposed tax increase of 60 t per $100.00 of assessed valuation in the education fund.
