As we look out into the world, we see many new hopes and new dreams. As you leaf through these pages in the years to come, may they help you to recall the many happy hours and happy times you enjoyed at school or related activities while attending Pawnee High School. As we now present the Indian Echoes Yearbook, we hope that your future years are as rewarding as the past have been for us. Without you it wouldn't have been completed. Your help was greatly appreciated. We, the Indian Echoes staff, on behalf of the Class of 1976, wish to dedicate this book to the memory of Mr. Coy Clarke. Coy Clarke was a man of candor, who, although having his own beliefs, was not beyond acknowledging the beliefs of others. He was a civic-minded man. As a member of the school board for six years, he worked to better the total educational program of our unit schools. He held deeply religious values and was an active member of the Catholic Church in Pawnee. He showed a concern for our youth and always strived to aid them in any way he could. But, more than anything else, he was a man willing to give generously of his time, effort, and wisdom. We hope this commemoration will preserve the memory of Coy Clarke, to remind each and every one of us of his leadership, service, and contributions to this community. To the editor, it means alot of hard work, time, and headaches. But in the end it is all worth while, being satisfied seeing the work in final print. To the staff, it means learning-doing their share to get the work done. To the students, it is happiness, humor, excitement, and sometimes even sadness. But to everyone, it is one year of their life, always to be remembered and cherished.
