Bo tike, . . . the clocks and bells worked together, the heaters worked in the winter, Mr. Smargiassi’s shoes didn’t squeak, Mr. Sandstrom didn’t say prior, there weren’t morning announcements, lunch hour was really lunch HOUR, everyone understood Geometry, study halls were quiet, second hour P.E. didn’t gripe so much, everyone was on time for class, people parked correctly in the parking lot, there weren’t big ruts in the driveway, there was school spirit, there was a Senior play, you could go into the Media and Lounge twice, everyone didn’t crowd at the lunch room door, people didn’t smoke in the restroom, the Student Council didn’t get so many critisms, the girls took showers in P.E., it had air conditioning, Juniors could give a prom without being criticized the boys didn’t have to get hair cut for sports, IT WASN’T GOOD OLD P.H.S. 1. Thou shalt not whisper in school (shouting draws more attention) 2. Thou shalt not write on desks (Carving is more artistic) 3. Thou shalt not run down steps (Sliding down banisters is more fun) 4. Thou shalt not throw spit balls (Books hit harder) 5. Thou shalt not talk back to teachers (Throw something instead) 6. Thou shalt not look on anyone elses paper (Have it passed) 7. Thou shalt not be tardy (Stay at home) 8. Thou shalt not smoke cigarettes (Cigars last longer) 9. Thou shalt not chew gum (Tobacco creates more of a sensation) 10. Thou shalt aot drive teachers to insanity (Take her there in a plane, or better yet, let her walk) 75 FaneuM” Four years is a long time—too long to forget. We look around and ask, “Where did it go?” We worked, we played, but for four years? Then we ook the other way . . . into tomorrow. Suddenly we’re not so tall as we t lought we were and not so smart. But we find that somehow we learned a decisive lesson at P.H.S., something we wouldn’t have had without the teachers, without our parents, without God—a direction into that uncertain tomorrow. We will long remember the events of these past four years, but now it’s time to leave this portion of our lives behind and to find our own way. “Farewell, P.H.S., and thanks for everything. We shall never forget you!” 76 Li b Debbie Aymer-G.A.A. 1,2,3,4;Pep Club 1,2,4; F.H.A. 1,2,3,4;Chorus 1,2,3;F.H.A. Officer 2,3,4; Band 1,2; Area Vocational Center 3,4.
