Jerry Acre Bonnie Brown We, the SENIOR CLASS of 1966, wish to dedicate our Indian Echoes to Jerry Acre, Bonnie Brown, and Tom Plummer who endeared themselves to all their fellow classmates. We hope this book will keep alive the memories we have of them for many years to come. ■ Seniors of Pawnee High School 1966: Four years have really flown. It doesn’t seem possible that it has been four years since you were Pawnee’s eighth grade graduates. We, the faculty of Pawnee High hope that we have made some contributions to your lives. We know that you as a class, and many of you as individuals have made many contributions to Pawnee schools. We hope that we have helped each of you to develop a well balanced personality consisting of at least four important traits--namely: physical, mental, social and moral. With each of these traits well developed may you go forth to achieve your desired goals. May the best of everything be yours in the years ahead. Good luck and happy traveling. To you we must admit; we shall leave you many problems; many tasks we couldn’t do. We shall leave a world unfinished. That shall need the best of you and we wonder as we see you going forth into the world, if you know the things that wait you in the places you shall fill. Mr. William Allen, Superintendent Class of 1966: Your courage, industry, ability to get along with others, and your other good character traits have given me a deep and abiding faith in your ability to face and cope with the future. Congratulations on your past accomplishments and best wishes for your future ones. Mr. Jessie Harkness, Principal Seniors: From the day the Class of 1966 entered Pawnee High School, it was obvious that this was a class that was going to make a fine name for itself during its four year stay here. Those four fast moving years have passed by now and we can look at the record and see that the Class of 1966 gave an excellent account of itself in every phase of school life. I sincerely want to thank each of you in the class for the four good years you have given this school and community. I hope you will continue to show the same driving spirit you displayed here as you move on into adult responsibilities. Your ambitions should carry you far. At last the day to which we have long looked forward has arrived. Long will each of the 36 members of our class remember the thrills and chills of this big day the little things that make it so--new dresses and new suits, caps and gowns, smiles and tears, congratulations, and good-byes. Suddenly, as the president of the school board calls our names and hands us our diplomas, we turn our backs on four of our happiest years. During these years we have received the knowledge to make bright the future which will come after the clouds of international struggle have disappeared. To obliterate these clouds, we will all work together. So it is that we stand with chins up and hopes high facing the future on this Commencement Day. Farewell, P.H.S. and thanks for everything. We sjjall never forget you. Underclassmen SEATED: Pat Hailey, Mike Meggison, Sandra Gant, Dean Webor, and Gerri Maxey. SECOND ROW: Duane Amyer, Patty Eson, Doug Thomas, and Virginia Golden. THIRD ROW: Ernie Irwin, Linda Castleman, Tom Bowen, Sherilyn Cashen, Denny Seiz, and Bill Thomas. JUNIORS Industrious (So We Hear!) The juniors are now ready to enter the last phase of their public education. These three-year students are now in the middle of the stream, and the swift current has already begun to carry them into their senior year. Life-long friendships have been kindled within P. H.S. Friends have been made who will follow the juniors on through his or her future education or work. Ail students have had an equal opportunity to participate in extra-curricular activities and have learned to work together to accomplish a desired result. With their goal of graduation just around the corner, the seniors of 1967 have their days at P. H. S. numbered. To them is given the job of carrying on the work of the Senior Class of next year. We are sure that they will continue the tradition. CLASS SPONSORS President....................................Leonard McTaggart Mr. Musick Vice President......................G. L. The sophomores are now approaching their third lap at good old P. H. S. Next year they will become juniors, and this is a time in which students eagerly look forward to graduation. Full of energy, pep and spirit, the sophomores have made a place for themselves in our high school life and have made contributions to our school activities. The Sophomore Class has always been ready and willing to do any task that one might ask of them; for that reason, P. H. S. can be proud of them. We are certain that the class of '68 will maintain standards equivalent to those held in the years past. We wish them every kind of success in their remaining years at Pawnee High School. With graduation a seemingly distant possibility in their future, the students of the Freshman Class have become well acquainted with P. H. S. in their first year and now are ready to form their opinions on high school life. Their hardest year at P. H. S. is left behind them, but the future still holds three full years of work and study until each student receives his diploma. Having obtained their first glimpse of high school life, with its never-a-dull-moment calendar of activities, these students at P. H. S. have decided that this important phase of their life will undoubtedly be to their liking. Passing the first milestone of their high school life, the class of 1969 has shown ability, and they have also been hard workers. We wish them every success in their remaining years at P. H. S.
