1.':' Time will never erase the friendships made; the activities enjoyed; or the knowledge acquired WITHIN THESE WALLS. !%2 3tuhm Edoa 'Ey Ljwthook St jh PAWNEE HIGH SCHOOL PAWNEE, ILLINOIS As you remember this year, think of the people you knew and the places you went. Remember the problems you encountered and the laughs you shared. Remember the ball games, the Carnival, The Prom. As the years go by we hope this yearbook will help you remember the events of that wonderful year of ’62’; a year we will nev er forget--for there will never be another like it. It was crowded It was lonely, INDIAN ECHOES STAFF THESE ARE THE BEST DAYS... the days we will always remember with deep feeling and fond affection. These days are filled with learning--not only of factual knowledge but of life as well. We leam how to work together to accomplish our goals. We leam how to lose as well as to win. For most of us there have been four years of life here at P. H. S. Now as seniors we must leave and step out to face a future that is very uncertain. In whatever degree of success or failure we may find ourselves in years to come, if a glance at these pages will lighten our labors--if only for a single moment, we deem our yearbook worthwhile. We now take great pride and pleasure in presenting Indian Echoes of 1962. It has been ours for almost a year. Now it belongs to you. As you look over the pages of this book and remember the time spent at Pawnee High, we feel that you will agree with us that these are truly.. .THE BEST DAYS. Official initiation was held on October 14. The class was headed by President, Bob Squires; Vice-President, Becky Leinen; Secretary, Bonny Leinen; and Treasurer, Nancy Dickey. We spent most of the year learning the routine of high school in the temporary quarters of the Grade School. Our sophomore year was spent like most sophomore years. We were past the green stage, but still had a lot to learn. Controlling our affairs that year were President, Marilee Turvey; Vice-President. Ronnie Millik; Secretary, Nancy Dickey; and Treasurer, Nancy Brawner. Although we were underclassmen, we were making a favorable impression. We had seventeen members in band and three varsity basketball players. By the time we were juniors, we were familiar with ways and means of high school. Officers for the year were: President, Judy Hoppin; Vice-President, Allen Baker; Secretary, Virginia Smith; Treasurer, Kay Beierman; and Student Council Representative, Alvin Schober. On November 18, we presented the comedy, Come Out of the Closet. We had gained in the field of sports being represented by seven varsity basketball players and four cheerleaders. Being juniors meant putting on the Junior-Senior Prom. On May 13, the South came to Pawnee High by way of Dixieland by Night. Now, being seniors, we're on the home stretch of our high school journey. We’re headed by President, Jim Minder; Vice-President. Norman Megginson; Secretary, Bonny Leinen; Treasurer, Bob Squires; and Student Council Representative, Allen Baker. We hope that throughout these last four years we've added prestige and fame to Pawnee High. We're still going strong in band, sports, and school clubs, but the problem now is, Who will take our place??? We'd really like to stay around to help take care of things, but time is marching on and we need to find our place in the world. We only hope we're successful in accomplishing this goal so that Pawnee High can be forever proud of the Class of '62.
