Coca-Cola clothes were the rage of the year. 2 Over alls invaded the school with a new look. The seniors were striving to be different with the first live bears on a homecoming float. In- vitational at Tonkawa and the Rogers State College Invitational at Claremore. They were also active in the Green Country Academic Bowl Organization which is a preliminary to the Governor’s Bowl. Members of the high school bowl team are Scott Copeland. Callie McKill, Rex Anderson and Gary Lieber. In June of ’86, they attended the National Beta Convention in Washington D.C. In September they organized an Adopt-A Senior-Citizen Program. For Halloween they sponsored a carnival for the grade school and set up a spook house at the high school. Thanks to the canned food drive held in November, many needy families were sup- plied with food. One of their most important projects was trying to organize a S.A.D.D. Chapter at P.H.S. Future Homemakers of America In September the F.H.A. girls held their annual B.Y.O. Banana- get-acquainted party. During November, they attended the sub-district rally in Stillwater. October was an official month; the girls serv- ed at a banker's banquet. At Christmas time they made cookies for the flower shop, and in April they attended a state convention in Oklahoma City. Chapter received the National Chapter Award. State BOAC Award. State Safety Award, County Fair Overall Herdsman Award, and Champion Sheep Herdsman of the Tulsa State Fair. Pawnee F.F.A. Chapter was named as the Outstanding F.F.A. Chapter of the Pawnee County Fair. The Pawnee F.F.A. Chapter was very competitive through out the year. They had the first place team of the Pawnee County Range. Land, and Pasture Judging contest, and first place at the County Judging Contest. The Livestock Judging team also traveled to the Tulsa State Fair and placed sixth out of fifty-four teams. Tawana Scott was chosen for the National Chorus at the National Convention last November 1986. Many F.F.A. members applied and only eighty-five were chosen. Cheerleaders The Cheerleaders sported a dif- ferent look thanks to the new uniforms purchased by the school. They also received megaphones thanks to Mrs. Vida Gilliland. The squad attended camp during the summer and received many awards. They received superior and excellent ribbons. Ricky Beagle has attended Pawnee Schools for twelve years and has attended Indian Meri- dian Vo-Tech for the past two years, where he is studying diesel mechanics. Rick has been active in F.F.A. for four years. He served as vice-president his junior year and is currently serving as president his senior year. His awards include receiving Star Agribusiness Man for 1985-86 and Beef Production for 1985-86. Machelle Tannahill and Steve Wilson Machelle has been active in band for three years, during which time she was a twirler for one year She has been a member of the Pep Club for four years and is currently serving as its presi- dent. She also served as junior class reporter and junior class band representative. She was selected for Who’s Who Among American High School Students. Steve has been active in football, basketball, track, and weight lifting. He is a member of the Foreign Language Club, and he was a member of the cast for the junior play. Lisa Caldwell and Jeff Goodfox Lisa Caldwell has been a high school cheerleader for the past three years and was a jr. high cheerleader for three years. She is currently the head cheerleader for the high school squad. Lisa is also active in the Foreign Language Club and yearbook. Her honors include 1986 Homecoming Queen, second runner-up for the 1985-86 Bruin Queen, Who’s Who Among American High School Students, and a member of the top ten in State Fashion Review during her junior year. She was selected as 1986-87 March Student of the Month. Jeff Goodfox is active in football, basketball, and the Foreign Language Club. His honors in- clude being chosen as Northern Plains Indian Club Brave for 1986-87, 1985-86 F.H.A. Beau, Academic All-District, and All-District Second Team. California. During the three years he has attended Pawnee High School, he has been active in the Northern Plains Indian Club and the Black Bear Basketball team. Trevor was named to the 1985-86 State Honor Society. ANGELA NEWLAND AND STEPHEN NEWLAND — JANUARY Angela has attend- ed Pawnee Schools for one year. She moved here from Blackwell. She is a member of the Lady Bear Basketball team. She is also a member of FHA and Pep Club. Stephen is In the 9th grade, and this is his first year at Pawnee. He is a member of the Pawnee Black Bear Wrestling team. She attends the First Baptist Church and is active in the puppet group, youth group, and youth choir. Lissi’s hobbies are Music, basketball, singing, and swimming. Billy is a freshman at P.H.S. He has been active in band for five years, playing the trumpet. He attends the First Baptist Church and is a member of the Youth Council. Bruin Queen KATHY FUSS The 1986-87 Bruin Queen Pageant was held Tuesday, November 18, 1986. The theme for this year’s pageant was Winter Wonderland. Thirty-five young ladies vied for the title of Miss Bruin. The girls were judged on character, beauty and poise. Winner of the competition was Kathy Fuss. Kathy is a member of the Lady Bear basketball team, the senior high 4-H Club, the P.H.S. Band and the jazz band. She is the 1986-87 drum majorette. She is an active member of the First Baptist Church. 54 Shannon is a sophomore stu- dent and she is active in Pep Club and F.H.A. She is a member of the Lady Bear track team and she is one of the high school cheerleaders. She attends the Emanuel Church of God in Christ. SHANNON M. PATTON FIRST RUNNER-UP Rebecca, a senior, is active in basketball and softball. She is also a member of the Pep Club and the Northern Plains Indian Club. She is currently Junior Miss Indian Oklahoma and was selected by the American Indian Institute of Oklahoma University for the 1986-87 Wise Program, a scholarship offered to Oklahoma Indian students. Last year he was a cast member in the junior play. Besides being selected as the F.H.A. Beau, he was also the co-captain of the football team. He is a member of the Spanish Club. Steven Creager Steven is a junior and has attended Pawnee Schools since the first grade. He works at Vo-Tech on machine tools. For the past two years he has been elected as the most popular boy in his class and as an F.H.A. Beau. As a sophomore, he held the office of class secretary.
