In- vitational at Tonkawa and the Rogers State College Invitational at Claremore. They were also active in the Green Country Academic Bowl Organization which is a preliminary to the Governor’s Bowl. In June of ’86, they attended the National Beta Convention in Washington D.C. In September they organized an Adopt-A Senior-Citizen Program. For Halloween they sponsored a carnival for the grade school and set up a spook house at the high school. Thanks to the canned food drive held in November, many needy families were sup- plied with food. One of their most important projects was trying to organize a S.A.D.D. Chapter at P.H.S. Future Homemakers of America In September the F.H.A. girls held their annual B.Y.O. Banana- get-acquainted party. During November, they attended the sub-district rally in Stillwater. October was an official month; the girls serv- ed at a banker's banquet. At Christmas time they made cookies for the flower shop, and in April they attended a state convention in Oklahoma City. Chapter received the National Chapter Award. State BOAC Award. State Safety Award, County Fair Overall Herdsman Award, and Champion Sheep Herdsman of the Tulsa State Fair. Pawnee F.F.A. Chapter was named as the Outstanding F.F.A. Chapter of the Pawnee County Fair. The Pawnee F.F.A. Chapter was very competitive through out the year. They had the first place team of the Pawnee County Range. Land, and Pasture Judging contest, and first place at the County Judging Contest. The Livestock Judging team also traveled to the Tulsa State Fair and placed sixth out of fifty-four teams. Tawana Scott was chosen for the National Chorus at the National Convention last November 1986. Many F.F.A. members applied and only eighty-five were chosen. Machelle Tannahill and Steve Wilson Machelle has been active in band for three years, during which time she was a twirler for one year She has been a member of the Pep Club for four years and is currently serving as its presi- dent. Lisa Caldwell and Jeff Goodfox Lisa Caldwell has been a high school cheerleader for the past three years and was a jr. high cheerleader for three years. She is currently the head cheerleader for the high school squad. Lisa is also active in the Foreign Language Club and yearbook. She is a member of the Lady Bear Basketball team. She is also a member of FHA and Pep Club. Bruin Queen KATHY FUSS The 1986-87 Bruin Queen Pageant was held Tuesday, November 18, 1986. The theme for this year’s pageant was Winter Wonderland. Thirty-five young ladies vied for the title of Miss Bruin. The girls were judged on character, beauty and poise. Winner of the competition was Kathy Fuss. Kathy is a member of the Lady Bear basketball team, the senior high 4-H Club, the P.H.S. Band and the jazz band. She is the 1986-87 drum majorette. She is an active member of the First Baptist Church. 54 Shannon is a sophomore stu- dent and she is active in Pep Club and F.H.A. Last year he was a cast member in the junior play. Besides being selected as the F.H.A. Beau, he was also the co-captain of the football team. He is a member of the Spanish Club. Steven Creager Steven is a junior and has attended Pawnee Schools since the first grade. He works at Vo-Tech on machine tools. For the past two years he has been elected as the most popular boy in his class and as an F.H.A. Beau. As a sophomore, he held the office of class secretary.
