Presenting: The 1984 Bruin” Pawnee High School Pawnee, Oklahoma 10G . 122 Dedication Henry Wheatley The staff of the 1983-84 “Bruin” dedicates this yearbook to Mr. Henry Wheatley, janitor, for his many contributions to the Pawnee High School. Henry has devoted much time and ef- fort to his job, and has become close to the students and people he works with. We would like to express our gratitude for all he has done for teachers and students here at P.H.S. A BAG OF TOOLS Isn’t it strange That princes and kings, And clowns that caper In sawdust rings, And common people Like you and me Are builders for eternity? Each is given a bag of tools, A shapeless mass, A book of rules; And each must make — Ere life is flown — A stumbling block Or a steppingstone. 3 R. L. Male and female students at the school were not supposed to touch. In fact, students rarely ever talked. In the evenings, after duties of the day were completed, a boy and girl often met at this tree to talk. The rules required that the boy stay on one side of the tree and the girl on the other. It doesn't sound very romantic, and when it is known that all the other students watched from the dorm windows, it becomes even less romantic. Regardless of the rules, many cases of true love blossomed under this tree. It's no wonder that all who know its story call this mighty tree — The Love Tree. 122 ■ “SHi I’ve got a million of ’em!
