HAAS COAST TO COAST With all the delays in the new gym it will be ready to start our next season with all new facilities. The door which enters the bandroom is at the back of this picture and the door to the left leads to one of the shower rooms in our new gym. ADMINISTRATION PERKINS INSURANCE AGENCY Mr. James Robison has been superintendent of PCHS for 6 years. One of the many tasks faced by the administration this year was the building of the new gym. Mr. Max Martin has been principal at Pawnee for 4 years. He also taught Freshman English and sponsored the student council. Mrs. Shirley Spitser completed her first year here at PCHS as the school secretary. She kept the office running smoothly while learning how to cope with her new environment. Mrs. Spitser familiarized herself with all the office machines. Princess Kelly Brown and Prince Bruce Dalluge assisted the royal couple. This year the Homecoming Royalty were crowned on the field at half-time. LOCKARD MOBIL 51 VOLLEYBALL This was the second year for the Pawnee spikers. They played very well, although their record wasn’t that im- pressive. Their season games were against Humboldt, Lewiston, Tecumseh, and Falls City. They played in three tournaments; the Peru Invitational against Nebraska City; Southeast Border Conference against Humboldt; and dis- trict against Palmyra. This year there were 26 girls out for volley ball and next year all but two, Marianne and Kelly, will be back at Pawnee City to make the team. The team improved greatly from last year. They found that teamwork means more than just six people playing volleyball. The prospects for the years look good, as the younger players got more experience this year. Although the seniors were supposed to be ready to go out into the world, some of them still hadn’t figured out the simpler things in life. Bruce Dalluge and Beth Kerl were two of the recipients of the Thomann Scholarships. Also receiving this award were Don Shinn and Kelly Brown. The speaker for Commencement was Rev.
