Dedication Mrs. Daisymae Eckman, after seventeen years of dedicated serv- ice to the students of Pawnee City High School, retired in 1972. Mrs. Eckman was involved in many school activities and sponsored F.H.A., Pep Club, and the Junior Class at various times in her teaching ca- reer. She taught an Adult Home- making Class for the women of the community. She also was a spon- soring teacher for over 100 Univer- sity of Nebraska student teachers in home economics. Now she plans to enjoy her spare time with her many hobbies. She also hopes to spend some time traveling and visiting her grandchildren. Mrs. Pauline Poteet retired this year after teaching in the Paw- nee City Public Schools for twenty- seven years. For twenty-two of those years she taught the second grade. In the fall of 1967 she began working in the remedial education program, teaching reading and mathematics. She plans to stay busy in retirement with such activi- ties as embroidery, knitting, gar- dening, and tending flowers.

School Board Our school board is com- posed of nine persons elected by the voters of District 1. The board sets up the budget, revises policies, and considers contracts of the teachers. Of- ficers of the board were Alfred W. Raper, President; Glenn Binder, Secretary; and Doris Farwell, Treasurer. The school board met as a group once a month, when they would spend a long evening working on the problems of the school system.
