Mrs. Catherine Johnson received her B.S. from Peru State Teachers College. This is her second year here. She teaches Sophomore and Senior English. She was sponsor of the Senior play: The Ghoul Friend . This is Mr. Clyde Volz's fourth year at P.C.H.S. He is head football and track coach and assistant basket- ball coach. He has a B.A. from Doane College. He also sponsored the PC Club. He was also a Freshman co- sponsor. Mr. Jack Johnson is head basketball coach and assistant football and track coach. He also teaches biology' and driver training. He received his B.S. Degree from Peru State Teachers College. This is his second year with us. He was also co-sponsor of the Freshman class. Mr. James Happel teaches typing, shorthand, office practice, and bookkeeping. He attended the University of Omaha and Midland College where he received his B.S. He is advisor of the Smoke Signals and co- sponsor of the Junior class. This is his second year at P.C.H.S. 7

Our superintendent, Mr. Ronald K. Wenninghoff has a B.S. and M.S. from Peru State Teachers College. He has done undergraduate and graduate work from the University of Nebraska. This is his sixth year of teach- ing at Pawnee City, and his second year as superintend- ent. He is co-sponsor of the Senior Class. Mr. Norman Frerichs received his B.S. from Peru State Teachers College and his M.E. from the University of Nebraska. He teaches mathematics and serves as principal. He is sponsor of the Student Council and co- sponsor of the Sophomore Class. Mrs. Georgia Martin is our office secretary. She has numerous duties—filing, typing, telephoning, and many more during her day. She attended the Lincoln School of Commerce, and has worked here at P.C.H.S. for five and one-half years. Mr. Bruce Smith attended Iowa State University and received his B.S. from Peru State Teachers College. He has done additional study at the University of Nebraska. He is the high school counselor and teaches Junior High English. He is the golf coach, and co-sponsor of the Senior Class. 6

Mr. Keith Hawxby teaches chemistry, general science, and geometry. He received his B.S. Degree from Peru State Teachers College and has done addi- tional study at Kansas University and the University of Nebraska. He is co-sponsor of the Junior Class. This is his second year here. Mrs. Daisymae Eckman teaches Vocational Home- making 9, 10-11, and 12. She has a B.A. from the University of Nebraska and the Nebraska State Teachers College at Peru. She is advisor of the Future Home- makers of America. This is her tenth year at P.C.H.S. Our German teacher, Mrs. Wilma Stevens, teaches German 1, 2, and in grades 4,5,6,7, and is also head librarian. She has an A.B. from Peru State Teacher's College and has attended Phillips University at Enid, Oklahoma, and the University of Washington at Seattle. This is her eighth year here. 8 Mr. H. Arthur Schrepel has the honor of being the high school teacher who has been with us the longest— 34 years. He attended the University of Nebraska and Northwestern University and has an A.B. Degree. Mr. Schrepel is the band director and also gives private instrumental lessons as well as serving as sponsor of the band and its various groups.
