SCHREPEL For twenty-eight years the scarlet and black of the Pawnee City High School Band has added color to the musical highlights of this area. During this time the band has grown not only in reputation but also in size, numbering seventy-three performers in its ranks this year. Several new instruments have been added this year through the cooperation of the Board of Education and Band Mothers Club. Important activities of the band this year included performances at all home football games, at the county fairs, school assembly programs and the Mid-winter and Spring concerts, Band Day at the University of Nebraska, the Southeast Band Festival at Falls City, the District Music Contest at Auburn, and the Memorial Day parade. The chief aim of the members of the band has been the develop- ment of the fine citizenship and morale so necessary to the success of any organization — not only in concerts and re- hearsals, but also in the small groups and in individual achieve- ment. MAJORETTES Carolee Kerl, Mary Herries, Marianne Mangnail, Frances Jensen, Donna Boehmer.
