lllllllllllllllllllllll lllllllllllllllllllllllllllllIllililllllllllllllllllllll llllllllllllllllllllllll Ein rmnriam To the memory of John Nicholas QAD Galvin, alumnus of the class of '47, We pay tribute. If one person of the class of '47 exem- plified the true spirit of Pawhuska high school more nearly than another, that person was Al. That ls how the mem- bers of his class feel: that is how the faculty feels. Al was for the school. He was in- terested ln every phase of it. He was a booster. He could put over any meas- ure he undertook. He was not only a. good student in his academic subjects, but he participated in various extra- curricular activlties. Among them were 4-H club, Poetry club, Future Teachers of America, football, contests, National Guard, Boys' Glee Club, Annual-Chopa staff, Junior play, Student Council and State Honor Society. lllllllllllllllllllllll lliIIIIIIIlIIIIIIlllllIIIl!llIIIIlilllllllllllllllllllll IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII! As the handsome young dramatic coach in the Junior play, Come Rain or Shlne, Al was outstanding in his jestful interpretation. In the annual all-school Christmas program, put on by the speech and vocal music departments, Al played in true spirit the part of the bishop in The Bishop's Candlestick, by Victor Hugo.. In the Senior play, And Came the Spring, Al again had a lead. He played to the hilt the part of Jeffrey Hart- ness, an aristocratic husband and father who maneuvered the welfare of his household. In developing the theme, Our Tasks, Al and six other young men of his class appeared on the Commencement DF0- gram. Al used as his subject Strengthening of Three Great American Institutions. He did honor to himself in mter- preting the part the home, the school and the Church play in American life. Al's love of life, generous attitude toward others and strong personality endeared him to everyone. He was an ideal Amer- ican high school boy. The best to be wished for every high school student is that he might have the ability and will to live life as abund- antly, wholesomely and joyously as AL did. Surely his sparkling, fervent spirit is making brighter that other dawn. llllllllllllllllllllllll IlIlllllllIlllllllllllllIlllllIIlllllllllllllillllllllll IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
