t Awards Made At First Annual Football Banquet Most Valuable Player Award goes to Senior John Lawson. John was captain of the team. Senior Niles Chumley was awarded the trophy for Best Sportsmanship. Niles played fullback for the Fighting Cavaliers. A junior, Roger Smith won the award for Best Lineman. Steve West, another junior, won the trophy for the Best Back for the Cavaliers' team. Pep Rally And Other Activities Mark Homecoming Mr. Mays enjoys a cup of popcorn while chatting with some fans before going onto the field for the half-time activities. The Homecoming Spirit became apparent at a pep meeting that morning. Several students represented the football players as their brothers and sisters.
