Deck, or lst Division has the ri,chest'traditions in the Navy. The BoatsWain's'lYlhates CBMD, the oldest job field in the Navy, and the Deck Seangen make up l5tZ4Divisi6n. The Deck Seamen are the backbone of the division, With young men and women searching for their niche onboard PAUL F. FOSTER. The Deck Seamen have an oppurtunity to strike for most ratings offered in the Navy while assigned to Deck. lst Division does most of the preservation on the outside of the ship. They are the ones that make the ship look as beautiful as it does. Along with the chipping, sanding, and painting, they perform many of the duties that get us and keep us underway such as manning ,the anchor, handling the lines and directing underway replenishments. The division stands Watches on the Midge as Helmsmen, Lee Helmsmen, and lookouts.
