The Christening of a ship is an ancient, time honored tradition practiced in some form by nations around the world . The ship was indeed honored to have as its sponsor, Mrs. Paul F. Fos- ter, wife of Vice Admiral Poster. Assisting Mrs. Foster as proxy sponsor was her granddaughter, Mrs. Greg Hinshaw.
