This is Mr. Buchner's fourth year at Pattonville. Mrs. Marie Daniels, Dietitian, plans the menus for proper nutri- tion. She is supervisor over all the cafetc-rias in the Pattonville Dis- trict. -- . He is a graduate of Mis- souri State Teachers College and has been with the Pattonville Dis- trict for three years. His secretary is Mrs. Charlotte Thomas. X ff 1 Back in 1845 the land from Olive Street Road north to Anglun and from the present Over- land west to the Missouri River was all one Township District. On May 5, 1845, the directors decided this district was too crowded. The District was then divided into, three parts, the eastern part, Mount Pleasant, the western part, Creve Coeur, and the northern part, District No. 2. A new one-room brick building, the first Fee Fee School, was built on the site of the present Pattonville Grade School in 1850. This school, about sixteen by twenty feet, was built on an acre of ground donated by Mrs. Long. In 1880 this small brick building was tom down to make way for a frame structure with a larger classroom. Then in 1907, due to damages, the district passed a bond issue to build a modern two-room brick structure. The Missouri Baptist Children's Home moved to Pattonville in 1909, bringing many new pupils to the district, and in 1925 plans were made for a new school. 4. .mfs 0-WI '-I :s- fb 2 vo. f'P 2 o A o o B Tr E F3 P? 1: V1 fb Ph o 7-1 E3 FD Q.. Ef Ill FD Fi' :r' fb school was being built, classes were held in the basement of the Missouri Baptist Church. Until this time there had been no high school in the district, but the many inconveniences of attending Normandy and Ritenour urged the Board of Education and civil organizations to plan a secondary school. Although they thought the high school would be sufficient for ten years, in 1941 an addition was made. The first graduating class - two students - was in 1936. Now the community was growing rapidly with many new subdivisions springing up. In 1943 a second addition was made. This made it possible for 7th and 8th grade students to be housed in the high school. The high school building was again expanded in 1953 with the addition of the center en- trance, the auditorium, the cafeteria and nine classrooms. In 1957, the 7th, 8th, and 9th grades were moved to the junior high building, which was completed that year. Six more classrooms were added to the senior high in 1959, and there are indications that Pattonville will continue to grow in the future.
