l SUPERINTENDENTS MESSAGE Pattison ,illnhepenhent Sultan! Binh-ict Qgaiiisnn, Texas Students, Teachers, Parents, Friends of Pattison School: Each person is responsible, in some way, for the making of tomorrow better than today. He who contributes nothing toward improvement is either selfish or incapable. It is only natural that we should want to grow and develop in our various fields of interest and by so doing, we can con- tinually look forward to a bright and happy tomorrow. By having such a spirit and attitude we will make a definite contribution toward bringing happiness to others as their tomorrows come and go. The person who gives freely of his time to seeing that others are made glad has evidently dis- covered the secret to real happiness and is the type of individual that is desired by most every community. We trust that your contacts and experiences in, through and with the school, have been of real benefit and inspiration to you and have helped you to better understand the real meaning and purpose of education. We, who have a place of responsibility with the school certainly-want to con- tribute much toward making it a better school and through it, we hope to influence in a most pleasant menner, each person who passes our way. It is our desire to instill in each individual, the spirit of happiness and good will. . Sincerely, M. F. Dollar

1 1 PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE 1 lgzriiisnxt Qlnhepenhnnt Srhnnl Bisirici Elpaitisnn, 'Texas To the Students of Pattison School: The school year has come and gone. One can only look back over the nine month period and wonder whether the time was used as it should have been. Time once passed cannot be recovered regardless of how used. You, as students of the Pattison High School, are provided with opportuni- ties and given advantages which your parents probably did not enjoy. For these I am sure you are grateful. I trust that as you further your education, whether it is at Pattison or in a higher institution of learning, you will keep the thought in mind that what you are to be when you grow older, you are now becoming. I hope that each of you will strive to become such a citizen that your school and community will forever be proud of you. It takes courage and de- termination to accomplish anything and you will get only as much out of your schooling, or anything else, as you put into it. I trust that you will not let any opportunities pass your way unchallenged. This school year has been a very pleasant year for me. I feel that each of you has been a contributing factor in making it so. I am looking forward to another pleasant year with you in 1956-57. Sincere1Y W . R. Leggett Principal
