Our goal has been not only to give the students the education that will help them after they leave school, but also to make going to school a happy experience. By working together we have been able to accomplish this, as this volume will testify. The l95h copy of the Panther, with all of its pictures, will serve as a perpetual reminder of the activities that have been carried on during the year. It is my sincere hope that you may look back to your experiences at Pattison with pleasure. May I convey to the seniors my congratulations upon their graduation. It is a credit to you that you chose the task of con- tinuing in school, to the underclassmen it is my hope that you will look forward to more happy days at Pattison. I extend sincere grat- itude to the Board for the opportunity that has been mine in working with a fine, co-operative group. In recognition of all the extra matters beyond the call of duty contributed by the staff, I wish that personnel to accept my gratefulness. For this accomplishment would not have been possible had it not been for our public school system--a system that was created to meet the needs of the young people of Texas one hundred years ago. And yet I would also remind you that although you have completed one voyage on the seas of learning and pause momentarily to survey the trip behind you, UStill leagues and leagues beyond those leagues, there is still more sea.H Strain to see what lies ahead, as the founders of our public school system did, and meet the needs of the changing times.
