The boys decorated the gymnasium in white which blended snow theme and Santa Claus was placed by the Christmas tree in the center ot the gym. This was the night Ann Davis was named Key Club Sweet- otrer nominees for this honor were presented baby orchids on blue r'bbons w'th Honoree printed in s'lver glitter upon them. Mildred Polk, director ot the high school's Mixed Choir, and Mr. Fred Junkin, director of the VHS Band, collaborated to furnish a splen- ot music. The musicians and choristers blended their talents in oresenrng a Christmas program of both sacred and popular music. tryouts were also held during this month. Casts were chosen for the Red Masouers' presentation of Take Care of My Little Girl, the senior iunior play, The Family Nobody Wanted. Meanwhile students in contest speech were practicing for Harvey which they were to present contests spring. the holidays students enioyed themselves by earning extra Christnnas money, resting after Christmas, and attending the usual amount of parties. Some hoped for a White Christmas, but alas, all that came down from those dreadful clouds was the usual ra'n. in VHS ended December, l959, in various ways, some at parties with their friends and others with their families. However, the closing of the year meant for the seniors-graduation and hopes and ioys of the good times they would enioy the'r final semester of the year. f. L 33
