Mr Ivan Larsen, Principal The Class of '55, born at the end of the depression, in the primary grades during a great world war, and spending the last eight years in a cold war, and moving out to the unknown future still in this psycho- logical cold war, faces a more complex civilization with more prob- lems than any preceding group. They are not the first, nor will they be the last to start out on a like trip, each succeeding generation has started out on a more com- plex world, but fortunately, they have each been better prepared, thanks to a better and better education. Our present class is no exception, having had a better education for the world they are to live in than any preceding class. These tools, plus the American Heritage, will enable the citizen of tomorrow to cope with the multitude of complexities with which the world will be faced. It will then be the privilege and honor of each of you to accept the challenge to overcome the multiplicity of obstacles, the same as your parents, grandparents and ancestors have done in the past, thus adding another link to strengthen our great nation. To theClass of '55, the faculty and l would Iiketo extend our best wishes and the thought that we have enioyed having you with us for the past four years, and extend our best wishes for the future . 4
