Published by THE ASSOCIATED STUDENTS of PATTERSON UNION HIGH SCHOOL Patterson, California s4 ' M-5. irwf aw, sae-nan-an 7 f'.he.. APPRECIATION To Emil Reghitto, who has taken an active part in student activities duing the two years he has been at Patterson High, we dedicate the 1953 edition of Del Puerto. Mr. Reghitto has been responsible for the publication of Tiger Tales and last year served as adviser for the Del Puerto. One of the sponsors of the Class of '53, he has aided the Seniors in many of their projects. In a completely different field he has coached the B basketball team for the past two years and this season led them to a league championship. In behalf of the school we wish to thank Mr. Reqhitto for his interest in and service to the student body. ADMINISTRATION A Message from Our Principal. Mr. Larsen Forty-two of our students are leaving Patterson High, some to go to college, some to the armed forces, some to be married, and some to work. What the student is going to be in later life is started in influenced to a great extent by his high school life. Students of Patterson High have come to realize that high school is the preparatory work for the job of becoming an individual and a citizen. The more preparation that the school can give in this adapting, the more training in the goals of life, the forming oi sound bases, the easing of the transition from adolescence to adulthood, the better job the school is doing. We hope that we have been successful, for if we have, you will become a successful and happy, good citizen in later life. Congratulations to the Class of 1953: we have enjoyed having you with us and hope that all your desires and aspirations will come to you successfully. 4 Walton, Secretary Mr. Pinkerton, Vice Principal Mrs. Woolley, Dean of G 1 OFFICE STAFF AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES ADMINISTER SCHOOL AFFAIRS Trustees: Mr. Hamilton, Mr. Heitman, Mr. Thorkelson, president, Mr. Verschelden, Dr. G 5 Mr. Harrison A. Two big events of the year were the Senior Ball with Club 53 as the theme, and the Senior Play entitled Green Valley. Students were impressed by the way State government func- tioned when they visited the Capitol at Sacramento. The climax of four years of hard work came on Iune 4 when forty-one Seniors received their diplomas. Several band members were fortunate to be included in the County Music Festival, at which about one hundred fifty students played in unison at the Modesto High School Auditorium. As a prelude to the annual spring concert, which was held on April 23, the band presented an exchange program at Orestimba High School. On May 3 the group traveled to Los Banos to march in the May Day Parade. The graduation program high-lighted a year full of fun and hard work for a large group of student musicians. 41 'A L 40 mr A' ,x s l in m -3 . Lf u ,X a .
