COMMAND SENIOR CHIEF lJAN-'l7AUG Butler, Edgar L. MNCS CSWJ Dothan, AL Senior Chief Petty Officer Butler has served as Patriot 's Senior Enlisted Advisor since May 2006, as Well as be- ing the Operations and Combat Systems Leading Chief Petty Officer. This September, he began turning respon- sibility for Patriofs enlisted men over to Senior Chief Brent Tidwell in anticipation of retiring in spring 2008. Edgar Leo Butler was bom in Fort Polk, Louisiana, and raised in Dothan, Alabama. He entered the Navy in May 1986. His first duty station assignment was as a Surface Sonar Technician aboard USS Robinson CDDG 12j out of San Diego. He converted to his present rate of Mineman in March 1997. His most recent assignment was at Mobile Mine Assembly Unit Eight in Guam, Where he served as Op- erations Officer and Quality Assurance Department Head. His personal awards include the Navy Achieve- ment Medal ftwo Gold Starsj and the Navy Commenda- tion Medal fthree Gold Starsj. Senior Chief Butler is married to the former Lisa Frank- lin, also of Dothan.
