P H S MEMORIES 1935 Thomas She g1V9S a real servxce to her congregatlon and It seems her mlsslon to l1ft the m1nds of her hearers to a dlfferent realm thru the 1nsp1r1ng power of muslc from thls prlnce of all lnstruments As we turn the next page we find our good frlend Clare Ober holtzer teachmg a group of l1ttle k1ndergarten tots A few weeks ago twenty of her l1ttle students graduated She had a regular l1ttle commencement for them and they all had thelr dlplomas and 1nv1ted the1r parents The l1ttle folks sure do thmk thelr teacher IS about all of It They wouldnt mrss a day of school for anythlng and the tlme goes so fast for them 1n both work and play that they always hate to leave thelr sandplles plcture books etc On page twelve we renew our acquamtances wlth one of the most Jolly of our old classmates Paullna Slnce that tlme her name doesn t sound qulte the same but lt stlll has the same number of let ters 1n It We don t know of anyone anywhere that seems any better contented and happier than she In her spare tlme she 1S the leader of a 4 H club whlch boasts of havlng won three medals for dolng the best work 1n their county She naturally has then plenty of tlme to practlce what she preaches She seems to have a hobby maklng l1fe pleasant for everyone around her On the thlrteenth page of the th1rteen Semors we behold the old prophetess herself QLo1s Longj whose twelve years of school l1fe are today pleasant memorles of a pleasant past She always had a weakness for muslc so now we see her trylng to cultlvate that hobby ln about forty advanced plano students who belleve Wlth her that muslc washes away from the soul the dust of everyday l1fe and that muslc IS the fourth need of man for 1nsp1rat1on pleasure and to make clear the poss1b1l1ty of a larger llfe Turnlng the fourteenth page and last 1n our famous book of prophecy we come face to face wxth that thlng that used to assume the respons1b1l1t1es of sponsorlng the th1rteen Senlors of 35 And vslth such a class as that to sponsor who could stay ln good humor 1ust all the tlme Today that gone but not forgotten look 1n h1s eyes IS no longer there CSeem1ngly she preferred a car salesman to a promlslng young teacher so made pOSS1bI9 the fact we had hlm as a sponsor at Patsl But then he moved from hls Boulevard of B1 oken Dreams to Sky Blue Avenue and lnstead of Slnglng The Bells of Avelon he now slngs We Incorporated And now laylng all sentlment and past hlstory aslde we find that he IS st1ll g1v1ng health tests and Algebra problems and coaching as fine a team as ever played 1n Indlana Ill1no1s and Ohl0 But what else could we gxpecit from anyone who has llved 1n blg c1t1es llke Patrlcksburg and ose a e Well frlends everythlng soonel or later comes to an end so lt IS w1th thls ep1stle of prophecy accordlng to St So and So Thats all folks 26 . . . . . . .
