Depart- ment was the place to go. Besides helping out around school, the guys taking a subject under this department made projects of their own. A tractor driving contest was held in the spring. Mechanical drawing is a 2 year course of drawing plans and blue prints of houses, office buildings and bridges. This class serves as an excel- lent preparation course for those who plan to go into architecture. 19

The Latin classes center on the reading of Latin, while the French and Spanish classes concentrate on the conversational learning. Mrs. Cross and Mrs. Christian have the important job of teaching home economics. They help prepare the girls for their life ahead as future homemakers. Each girl is allowed to work at her own speed, thus receiving the most from the course. 20
