Mrs. Mitchell discusses possible degree achievements with Janice Wilbur. Gaining ability in homemaking and putting skills to' practical use through such projects as the sale ot sandwiches at the beginning ot the mid-term break describes the pro- gram ot the Future l-lomemakers ot Amer- ica. Many special guests attended the club's meetings. From them the members have learned to choose clothing styles. to apply make up, to cover old shoes. and to make Christmas decorations. Ditterent vocations that the Homemakers might want to pursue have been discussed.

During school years, teachers have a major role in pro- viding our education. The Future Teachers ot America worlcs to promote interest in the career ot teaching. A tea honoring the taculty, Career Day when members taught classes, and the FTA Convention at Hotel Roanoke gave these tuture teachers a chance to learn more about their proposed tield. They learned to work with children by going to West End and Raleigh Court schools atter school and during study halls, and through pre- sentation ot a story hour on Saturdays at the Raleigh Court Branch Library. is 58 y

GAA'ers from each Roanoke high school sponsor an all-slar leam for varsily sporls. They also hold a field day and game day.
