Being Black in America Being Black in America was this year's theme for Black History Month. This was a special time to recognize and understand contributions of black people to American history and culture. There were several activities planned by the teachers and the Black Student Leaders Group. Also, there were classroom speakers who discussed subjects concerning black poets. South Africa, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People,black women athletes, and more. Henry video magazine did a feature on black history and culture.
