Home- coming '82 Style This year, homecoming meant a time of change for the Senior class of 1982. Tradition was broken when, on Sept. 15. eleven girls were voted into the traditional Top 10. Then, on Sept. 18. another tradition was broken. The class of 1982 chose six girls to represent them in Homecoming ’81. rather than the usual five. On Sept. 22, in front of a crowded auditorium open to Seniors only, ballots were counted and football captains Joe and Tom proceeded to torture the six girls. Finally, after what seemed an eternity, they simultaneously planted a kiss on the cheek of our new Queen. Theresa Carlisle. Homecoming week kicked off with a Pepfest on Tuesday, followed by something new. an all-school talent show before the Queen's coronation on Thursday night. As proud parents and friends looked on. Queen Theresa proved herself The Sweetheart of Henry High” by bringing two reluctant Jr. Attendants up the royal ascent to her throne. Then came Friday. THE BIG DAY! After a long day of cutting classes for the students of Patrick Henry, the moment of truth had finally come. It was time to Show Southwest Who’s Best!” and show them we did! Final score: Pats 16 — Indians 13. The week ended with the annual victory dance, with music by the fantastic band Buster Friendly. Homecoming '81 will be remembered by all as a time of laughter, good times, and victory.
