The term academics may be applied to many subjects at Patrick Henry, . . . h including taking pictures in photograp y, ESP. in psychology, playing h, and chemistryf' This testing your softball in PE., working in Pat's Place at lunch, and making pizza in cooking class. Al- most everything students did while at school this year tell under the heading of Hacadem- ics. Therefore, this section covers the one aspect of school in which all the students are involved. Everyone has sat in a classroom at one time or another, and everyone has taken a test or listened to a lecture. Because of these common exp should identity with the looks of frustration, interest, and occasional sleepiness found on ' t the following pages. Senior Art Studio pro- duced artwork en-masse, Students were con- stantly working to create an example of the best work they could do. When the entire class was planning and designing similar projects, tension could be felt in the air. Stefanie Wagstaff commented that, 'tAlthough no one talks about it, there is always jealousy - you always want to do well or better than the guy next to you, More conflicts arose due to a lack of money for supplies and the cancellation of Quest magazine, which ended the students' oppor- 44 Academics 1'-.'5, SS ll 3? The diffi- culty of this task was revelaed only when students recognized that some of the most famous artists in the world don't create this many works in their entire careers. While these art students were frantically turning out creative masterpieces, the rest of the art department was involved in other ar- tistic endeavors. Students in classes such as Commercial Art, Art 1, ceramics, advertis- ing, and carfts produced many things from cartoons to clay pots.
