Buck, Run, Tug, Seniors, juniors, sophomores go! These were the shouted words, as stu- dents anxiously awaited the results of the class competitions, held on Fridays during the extended lunch. Anyone who was eager to test their skills and have a lot of fun joined in the competitions to gain points for their class. Competition involved the three- leggedsrace, tug of war, eating, and the ll . adles falling all over you... popular Buck-Buck contest. Buck-Buck remained a favorite com- petition. As boys formed a linked line, as many girls as possible piled on their backs, trying not to fall off. Watching was fun, but participating students really got in on the action! While Rene Schor claimed, lt's a lot of fun, Sheri Bern- stein felt, . . . sorry for the guys, it must be torture! On the other hand, Nick Alcorta said, 'tAnytime you can have some ladies falling all over you, you can't help but have a good time! Gene Phil- lips said that he, ' A... liked everything but the feet in his face! Not everyone wished to participate, but even so, the event drew a large and enthusiastic crowd. As Donna Linsk pointed out, 'tEven the spectators are involved and having fun. 'LClass Com- petitions are fun, exciting, and promote school spirit! said Andrea Weiss. On a typical day, the working student may spend as much as an hour getting ready. The uniform must be spotless and in most cases, hair must be put up, and out of the face. And for working girls, you never know when your handsome Prince Charming might come roaring through the drive-thru window. So their make-up was carefully applied, and nails skillfully painted . . .just in case. After the working student was ready to go, he or she jumped in mom's car and raced to work.
