Have you ever just spent the day listening to people? l decided to l do just that one day at school and. boy, was it interesting, Before school l heard a lot of people asking their friends about homework or a test coming up. l don't want to go to mathl was a popular phrase. Cf course there were plenty of students who didn't want to talk about school. Those were the most interesting conversations. Now don't get me wrong, l wasn't eavesdropping. How could l help it if they talked so loud? Girls seemed to have a lot more to say about boys than boys about girls. Some of what they said l can't repeat, but it was quite interesting. Around prom time the talk was even better. Do you think he's going to ask me? Well, should we go or not? l mean, l m ,JH lla 1 only good thing is band, Ernie Maschner 're not. The end of the year was quite not asking anyone it you mixed. Up to the last couple weeks the seniors seemed to really want to leave. l can't stand school anymore, was heard frequently. But when it came right down to the last few days their attitudes changed. The girls took to crying. Oh. l'm going to miss you. Write to me. We'll do something over the summer. The guys were more relaxed. So where are you going to college? or 'lNow l can go surfing whenever l want, were just a few of the things l heard. l must say that when it came to making a boring day interesting, my ears came in very handy.
