ying out the pages for an issue of the Patriot Press is zdious and time-consuming job, but one which editors 'annah Carroll and Ron Kroichick perform often. Journalism advisor, Mr. Litchfield, plays an impor- tant part in the production of the Patriot Press. Here he is advising editors Brian Wolf and Suzannah Carroll on page layouts. Patrick Henry from an Editor's Angle j - 'iMore diverse and yet, still academically excellent. That is how Brian Wolf, one of this year's Editors-in-Chief for the Patriot Press, viewed our school. During this, his first year as Editor-in-Chief and his second year on the Patriot Press staff, Brian greatly influ- enced Journalism and and the school paper. And he enjoyed it. Primarily Wolf joined the staff of our school newspaper in an effort to 'iget a better chance to improve the paper and better inform students. Right away he noticed great differences between Journalis- tic writing style and that which he was used to. 'llournalism is primarily classical while the usual essay writing is creative. Through his own hard work, Wolf hoped that he helped the paper gain more re- spectf' I think the paper is taken more seriously now, and we've achieved a consistently and constantly improving product. And how does an Editor-in-Chief view our school? I am proud to be a member of both ll I e ve achieved a consistently and constantly improving product. Journalism and Patrick Henry, because both are really excellent. Brian Wolf, having been on the Patriot Press Staff for two years, had some interesting comments on our school's newspaper. journalism 247

Despite the scattered look of the table, the section was organized under the competent yet firm hand of its editor, Stacee Peterson. we K . I nl x . 'IH .. u ,. I ...i Drea ded Days i'l'he only picture we have of lVIr. Law- rence is of him sticking his tongue out. Who said there was a J.V. Soccer team? I can't find the sophomore g's. HAhh. Just forget them. No one will no- tice. The sound of frantic voices was typical on any day in yearbook, but deadline weeks were the worst. The word deadline rang true - death was eminent for Encounter staffers once a month for six long months. After a week at a yearbook workshop, Edi- tor Jennifer Dill and Sports Editor Stacee Peterson came back with several ideas for changes to be made. Ideas that were carried through made deadlines tougher, But it was done in hopes of producing a high quality Senior Section Editor, Cathy Niss, matches names on the roster to names she typed as she begins the nec- essary yet monotonous and tedious work of checking and rechecking. yearbook like no other. I love it, and I hate it. It better be worth it in June, said Dill. Looking forward to that day was what kept the staff going. It certainly helped on the first deadline. Staying up all night was not rare. HI was in the yearbook room from seven in the morning until eleven that night, said Peter- son, Hand I came back the next day at sixf' Cathy Niss saw deadlines as a test of emo- tions - that she Ukept flunkingf' Fortunately, the staff held together under the leadership of Advisor Joan Stewart. After the last deadline in March the staff started to work on next yearis book. Regard- less of late nights and big problems, the staff felt it was worth it in the end. The book looks fantastic!
