More Than a Birdcage Liner, t, The journalism staff wasted little time in preparing for the 1982-1983 school year. In fact, before school even began, the students were busy redesigning the Patriot Press pro- duction room in order to make it more effi- cient for publication of the school newspaper. The Patriot Press hit the halls every three weeks for the first semester, as the staff shar- pened its skills before returning to the bi- monthly format. The paper was one of the few in the county run entirely by the stu- dents, with editors-in-chief Suzannah Carroll, Ron Kroichick, and Brian Wolf leading the way. Still, advisors Bob Litchfield and Bob Shaughnessy provided top-notch guidance and frequently pitched in with words of wis- dom. Every person on the staff had an opportu- nity to be an editor of a certain page. Once an P editor, it was that person's job to choose what articles were to be written. Members of Jour- nalism then came in to the Journalism room for sing ups. Sheri Bernstein and several other Journalism stu- dents produced next year's Inquire, which lists and describes Patrick Henry's classes.

During this, his first year as Editor-in-Chief and his second year on the Patriot Press staff, Brian greatly influ- enced Journalism and and the school paper. And he enjoyed it. Primarily Wolf joined the staff of our school newspaper in an effort to 'iget a better chance to improve the paper and better inform students. Right away he noticed great differences between Journalis- tic writing style and that which he was used to. 'llournalism is primarily classical while the usual essay writing is creative.
