To bring out the Gun-Control issue, Susanne Graves acts out a skit with Helen Halpern during the Voter Turnvon rally! assembly. Leah Prewitt, Eliza Ramirez, Marla Hoffman, and Judy Birch, cheerfully sing and dance, to the song, f'Get out and Vote, during the first all school rally- sembly for the Voter Turn-on, .Nami K I in P I want YOU . . . to Vote! Patrick Henry was involved in a unique experience to encourage citizens to vote on the Novem- ber 2nd elections, It was the first district- wide, voter Turn-on campaign. Fifteen schools participated in this event, which included many assemblies, rallies, pro- jects, and competitions. Sol Price and Robert Peterson, contrib- uted 585,000 in prize-money, to various schools which competed in the contests to enhance the Voter Turn-on. P.H. was among a few schools to receive 88,000 for a first place prize. Also, when the Drama Class combined with the Band and en, tered the song and cheer contest, they won 32,000 for overall first place. P.H. was supported by the Band, Drama, Key ... opulation to th Poll Club, Media Club, Patriot Press, Patriot Report, Science Club, Speech Club, and Octagon Club, Among all the activities, a very interest- ing and exciting event took place. P.H. had its first all school rallyf assembly. Activities were such things as skits, a de- bate between Jennifer Dill and Linda Cu- sik, speeches by Becky Parker and Brian Wolf, and voter song performance. Erik Harner said, l thought it was interesting and if l was 18, l would have votedf, How- ever, Barbara Kent said, Alt wasn't worth my while since most students couldn't vote. Even though most students were not old enough, the rally promoted a lot of spirit to make the Voter Turn-on a suc- cess.

Junior Alisa Ohri appears puzzled as she counts spirit links at the Homecoming rally. iii mini Ur' . o oo V Mu TT EVERYBCDY CHEER!! HPatrick Henry-High! Can you dig it - everybody's here, so everybody cheer! These words are familiar to all who fre- quented Henryls Spirit Rallies. The pur- pose of the rallies was to get everyone enthusiastic for a game or other important event. And that it did. There were cheer- leaders, drill teamers, footballers, and even the Drama Production class pitched in. The first rally was held on September 17th, in the Gymnasium. Both squads of cheerleaders were introduced, and also the starting line of the Varsity Football Team. Varsity Head Cheerleader Regina McFadden commented, l think rallies are a big success, and they fthe ralliesl show how hard the cheerleaders really work to get the crowd pepped up for a gamefl And hard work is truly the key to having a successful rally. As a few select members of the drill team discovered. For the Pac- Man rally held on October 8th, the girls practiced an hour after-school three days a week, for a month. ll ou pwtgotout there 84 had fun. Senior Tammy Haenel commented, 'Alt wasn't like a competition, you just got out there and had fun, and didn't worry about anything. It was fun! Rallies 79
