Fortu- nately, the sophomores had a great team of Junior Varsity Cheerleaders led by captain Brenda Deitrich to help them break into a spirited school year. 'Cheerleading is exhausting and tiring, but is super fun and has brought us all closer together! said Carol Toledo. The cheerleaders were a great way to include sophomores in the new rallies, fundraisers and com- petitions so different from 9th grade. Courtney Hayashi and Kristy Duncan agreed that cheer has really includ- ed us in all activities of the school. Summer cheer camp, two hour practices during vacation and prac- tice every day after school all contrib- ute to the great way the team per- ' I here are always fun things going on. formed their eight routines. There are always fun things going on, some said, Hlike summer camp, making care packages, and trying to get our uniforms ready on time. lt's never pleasant to be the low man on the totem pole and a new school can be frightening. Everyone should try out said Julie Archeam- beault, school is always more fun when you are involvedf, Class com- petitions really help newcomers get into the spirit of things and enjoy be- ing a sophomore. The music and dancing and things get people more interested in the games being played. Who knows what kind of cheer will bring a shy sophomore out of his shell? they laughed. Cheer helped us! S .
