Wait, I'm going to U.C.I..A. and I don't have a 5.0 ! 'LOh, it doesn't show up on my report card! 'LSO when you apply to a U.C. school they add a point to your average? Oh, only credit is given for certain ad- 170 Seniors T10- vanced classes, the two most advanced ll ho says seniors get all the advantages! ll classes in each department. HAH right, my GPA. is 3.0 and if the classes I took qualify, U.C. will give me an extra point in those classes to be averaged in'77 l'hat's great, they're encouraging kids to take more challenging courses, I know a lot of kids that are afraid to mess up their GPA. so they take an easier class. A'What do you mean it only applies to your class? Anything after the class of '83? That's my class! Bum Deal! I'm left outlw HWell that's just great! Eventually all high schools will accept this deal, and I'm not in on it - it's not fair!

Valedictorians from the Sports Angle For three of this year's Valedictorians, high school was a hectic combination of mental and physical activity. Rusty An- derson, Tom Fortner, and Andrea Weiss participated in Junior Varsity and Varsity sports while maintaining their 4.00 GPA. Rusty, who played on the JV and Varsity soccer and baseball teams during his three years at Henry, felt that his attitudes to- ward his classes and sports were some- what the same. lt's my competitive spir- it, he said, that's helped me get good gradesf' Tom agreed with him and added that, 'like sports, school is a challenge to me. Tom was a member of the Varsity Track and Junior Varsity Football teams. , ,Mt ef my r it 1 4 3 Andrea, who played on both the JV and Varsity Field Hockey teams, found that ll , r s my com pe ti ti ve spiri t.
