Over 300 Seniors found help through college representatives who came to explain the pros of their college. Every college from San Diego State to Yale sent somebody to tell prospective freshmen lSeniorsl what they needed to enter college. I signed up for a lot of meetings, it got me out of class, said Steve Connell. Many students enjoyed the chance to leave their class, but often the rep was so confusing, and sometimes boring, it al- most seemed a waste of time to get out of class. One meeting went something like this: Please sign your name on sheet A, fill out cards B and C, look over booklet D, but please wait until l'm finished with my long, ll or got me out of class. tedious, supposedly invigorating and im- pressive pitch . . . or is that speech?l' Well, our campus is located in down- town what-ya-may-call-it, about five miles away from the Love Canal area. As you can see, we have a beautifully landscaped university, Time Magazine said, This unusually landscaped college . . . is to say the least . . . nicef' Our curriculum ranges from chemistry to advanced social hour - of course, this class is heavily filled. Our professors are a fine, qualified staff, 95170 graduated from this very college . . . Actually, for the most part the meetings were helpful, and many of the students learned a great deal about their prospec- tive choices. However, once the last re- presentative left campus and the students limited their choices, there were still appli- cations and essays to complete. College Representatives 159
