Being the younger sister of a super ballplayer, Barb, of a few years back, Debbie Young still feels the pressue of living up to her sister's softball stan- dards. Barb was a three year Varsity player on a past team. We used to be really competitive. She always won ev- erything but I kept trying. Her sister set a hard example for her to follow and that inspired her to do her best during each game. I would like to be ll try as hard as I can. as good as Barb, but I know I won't be. I just try as hard as I can, Coming from the Navajo Bobby Sox League, she developed strong softball skills. Coach Shaffer had no trouble with Debbie. She's very coachable and eager to improve. Debbie gave it everything she's got, on and off the field. Her ability to lead and support the team was apparent by her position at shortstop. I. V. Softball 103

its Been 3 Long Time Being leadoff hitter and shortstop, Jill Past' man is a great asset to the team. How can anyone play one sport for so long and not be sick of it? Well, if you are declicated, you can live through it. Senior Jill Pastman has been playing softball' for hall' her life, nine years, straight, She came through the strong' Navajo Bobby Sox League and played in in off season amateur leagues, often playing with girls much older than her. 'Tm getting a little bit bored of playing, you are dedicated? you can liven V l through it. but I'll always love softball. Playing softball allthose years, she had matured into a fine ballplayer.
