1 s Once again the Patriots proved strong as we went into CIF playoffs with a 19-1 record. Led by All-County seniors Pam Stone Si Patty Mackey, the powerhouse Pats brought home a 3rd place finish. We also put five girls on both the All-County 84 All-League teams. As a group we did everything from TPing to kidnapping, all of which helped us to play as a solid team, The loss of Karen Friedrichs-a friend as well as coach-was a problem, but stand-by coach 84 part- time father Nello Pierozzi stepped in to do a super job. Highlights in- cluded Pam Stone's back-to-back no-hitters tone a perfect gamej, and Patty Mackey 81 Lisa Pierozzi both ended their 3rd seasons over .400. lr. Barb Young and Soph. With a pre-season record of 6-0, the Patriots continued to out score and outplay their opponents. Individually, the team possesed more depth and talent than in past years. Everyone contributed to the team's winning ways. janet Ruetten repeatedly put the ball through the hoop, while hustling on the boards more and improving her passing. Pat Adams continued to frustrate opponents by stealing the ball, play- ing super defense, and scoring points. Voncile Long terrified the opposition with her all-around strength of shooting, passsing, and rebounding. Sandra Braboy drib- bled her way through the opposition, making many pin-point passes along with her ability to score. With the addition of six foot two sophomore Kirsten Cummings, the team had the height necessary to produce a winner. Carla Balancier continued her overall balanced play, while Lisa Chiles amazed everyone with her unusual shots. Karen Heckman's height and improving skills were also impressive. The over- all result was a team of champions.
