FIGHT! FIGHT! Patrick Henry in the past years has always had a tough defense, this year was no exception. Going through the year with virtually no recognition, the small but mighty defense always came through. Shutting out many of their opponents, the Patriot defense was soon recognized as a hard hitting squad. On the line were seniors Rick johnson, john Kosic, Bob Nardelli, james An- derson, Rick Abate and junior stalwart Richard Castaneda. Sealing the middle for the Pats were Scott Flaming, and Glen Davis. Many of our oppo- nents found it very difficult to score outside with linebackers Keith Bauer and Dave Iunker. No defense is complete without a back field which con- sisted of corner backs Ed Wilson, Dan Herbert and junior Kipper Bell, sa- feties Ken Hubbs, Chuck Arnold, and junior Terry Ramsett. The key to all defense is in the coaching and this year proved to be no different, with out- standing coaches Dave Libby, Mike Boblit, and joe Kovacevich. On behalf of the seniors I wish to thank the coaching staff, and wish to convey good luck to next year's team. GO! GO! The offense of the 1977 Patriots was a finely tuned machine, led by our two outstanding quarterbacks, Matt Kofler and Brent Woods. A costly preseason injury to Tony Romero enabled jeff Phillips to join Eric Chambers, forming one of the best backfields in the county. In addition to the fine ground game, Henry had an excellent passing attack with Kofler and Woods throwing to great receivers such as Dean Armitage, Kipper Bell, Steve Sharamitaro, and tight ends Howard Zarlin and Ernie Wright. Protecting the quarterback and opening holes for the backs was the county's best offensive line, tackles Ron Goldy and Bob Taylor, guards Eric Peterson and Kent Feldman, and center Glenn McCormick. Adding to the Pat's offense was our talented kicking specialist Dean Baughan. Special thanks to our great coaches Dale Twombley, Russ Leslie, Walt Ba- ranski, and Al Davis.
