This year the Patrick Henry Basketball Team was one of the best around the county. One reason was because of the nine returning let- termen that saw another year of action, four of them starters: Michael Gay, Brian Mitchell, Al Davis and Kirk Haring. Four of the under- classmen moved up to Varsity. We took second in the Eastern League with a 9-3 record, and an overall record of 21-7, which made us a top contender in the C.l.F. playoffs. With Michael Gay, Brian Mitchell and Kirk Haring hitting the boards, the Pats made it in C.I.F. playoffs. Kirk Haring and Brian Mitchell averaged double figures, and Michael Gay was the second leading scorer in the county. Playing an out- standing backcourt game were Al Davis and Matt Gorder.
