We had a slow start, but came on strong. Carlsbad Tournament-4th place in what was a marathon. Poway Tournament-4th place, defeat- ing Madison, Kearny, playing competitively with top-ranked Bonita Vista. First Round league play not up to potential. Second Round- looking good ! Only team in the county playing an offense with three attackers on the front line at all times. Coach Shirley Peterson has done a fine iob and will be coaching her second year with seven of twelve returning team members. The gradu- ating seniors are: Sue Buckby, Nancy Cook, Dawn Pagliuca, Judy Rathert, Roslan Rimoldi, and Mary Beth Saracino. J.V. finished their season ranking among the top three teams. Many of the outstanding players will be valuable to next year's varsity team. Captain Kathy Herse will be returning next season for another time year. We worked out hard and proved to be a very enthusiastic team. The runners were outstanding, they had a tre- mendous amount of talent, and were dedi- cated to their running. The coaching by Coach Runge was great. He helped all of us and we all thank him. The guys on the Varsity and J.V. teams have a fine future ahead of them.
