N. 14 -- 0 Hollywood 92 The IV season was marked by continual improvement. as indicated by the statisrics. ln the early games. the team suffered defears rhat would dishearren most squads. But the spirit of the lV's may be gauged by the fact rhar they were able to complete the season not only with a victory but also with a shut-out. In some losses the team was victorious everywhere but on the score board. ln both the St. Genevieve and Fairfax games, the ream gained over 300 yards, whereas the opposition gained a mere 150 yards. The only fault that could be found with the team was lack of depth. I hope rhat all the members ofthe squad will maintain their spirit and enthusiasm as varsity players. Vw I Q 4 . COACHES MOST VALUAELE PLAYER--Wayne Encinas Our first Freshman football team showed the kind of spirit and perseverance that should make Pater Noster one of the most respected C. I. F. football powers. Starting slowly the mighty Freshmen came roaring back with three overpowering football victories. The 42-0 victory over Elsinore earned a special place in the hearts of Eagle fans, as it was the first football win in the schools short History. Eagle Freshmen were led offensively by the hard running of backs Wayne Encinas and Ed Martinez, along with the fine field generalship of quarterback John Atwell. The defensive team was spearheaded by great play from Larry Lingua, Vince Meyer, Rick Raimondo and Andy DeCaro, ln their last effort of the season the Freshmen joined forces with the Junior Varsity in a convincing victory over a stubborn Hollywood foe. Congratulations Freshmen on a tremendous football year.
