Iochimsen, L. Finn, J. Noethe. The Patch Grove Beavers baseball team of 53-54 started the season by losing, to Cobb our first game, September 22, 1953. Then beating Mt. Hope on the 24th, 9 to 7. The next game the Beavers defeated Cassville 9 to 1. And Potosi 5 to 2. On April 20, we defeated Bloomington in a very thrilling game by 11 to 9. The team consisted of Palmer, Bushnell, Noethe, Moris, Hamilton, Wilkinson, Bradley, Jockimsen, Ellis, Richards, Redman and Tolle, coached by Ken Fuher. This team won a trophy and were co-champions of the West Grant League. Due to graduation of four of the team members, the team came back very weak, despite the fine efforts of Coach Thompson.
