However, we realized soon that ' h school for sophomores . Ma--6' . . . ' is not so ro y as it seems. We resisted offers of free ,,,f1f1QQ,, to the for we were more clever than previous classes. Knowing that free things must have a catch to them, we insisted on paying our way. Not only were we but we also responded heartily to new ideas. Having been told by the seniors U co-ed gym was offered daily, the girls my in droves to participate in this innovationQmThe boys also but they soon became less ? - -. ff, C ,, X , mi enthusiastic, When they , .fi 'P the girls' version of modern dancing, theyii, TP ig -T - ., and that co-ed gymlbe abolished. O Alt ough we thought that we were perfect, many dared to disagree with us. They thought we were a cynical group, because we insisted on carrying ourm around. This was not true, for we trusted everyone, especially the seniors. We carried our lunches with us only as a reminder, since we were often too interested in to eat. Gradually we became accustomed to this new way of life, but we were saddened by the loss of our beloved principal, Mr. Ollo A. Kennedy. Yet, we knew that Passaic High School would continue to maintain its high standards under the capable hands of our new principal, Dr. Elmer S. Holbeck. As rolled around again, wehimmediately felt the transition from sopho- more to junior. Our valid? excuses of were no longer honored for late entrances. We quickly forgot our grievance over this injustice when a new policy, which delighted the students, but dismayed the teachers, was announced. This f was-NO A7-9 MORE TWO HOUR MID-TERM EXAMSllll We, no longer, in our thirst for indexed our gyp sheets, lthose necessary aids for higher education.l Meanwhile, for the first time in history, teachers for longer hours.
