As we seniors are about to leave Passaic High School for an uncertain future, the Echo endeavors to acquaint us with some of the great mysteries of the unknown. The inclusion of a few black pages in our yearbook is an in- novation for us, and at the same time, it is a reminder of new worlds ahead. lt is hoped that the record of our past three.years as herein depicted will some day in our space travelling future bring to mind fond and pleasant memories of our fellow classmates, our teachers, and the good old earth-bound days. , 0 K., f' ' 'if' ,? , iw., , 'w i-is -,gh gear? 53,1 4 E X P913-'iblil H011 .M ,bg We the Graduating Class of i954 wish to ex press our sincere appreciation to the Citizens Com mittees the Board of Education the Superintendent of Schools the members of the school staff and other civic minded people who have contributed so much toward bringing Passaics dream of a high school closer to reality To them in recognition of their untiring efforts we dedicate this our yearbook 1 X Hz +A' , V it il' Ax ' 3 - ' N 1 2 9 -h ' 'fi ,gif iiigfba, X- ffl S' -ii 'Q . r - u'f,.Q, M ' ' ' ' 'YH , v 1 ' Sw:-H ' 4 .- lmfii I I . . . . Therefore l have made my residence on Mars, in order to become familiar with present trends. From my glass penthouse l could see off in the distance what was once the famed Empire State Building, now minute in comparison with the colossal structures of the pre- sent. -This glimpse of my past life on Earth inspired my contemplation of a trip back to Earth. Presently l found myself boarding my specially built rocketship made by the Ramer Cr Ramer Company and piloted by Joe Klinkowstein. The Ramers have pro- vided me with an exclusive compartment enclosing Oleh, my special mechanic, to assure my safe arrival. After soaring through space, l landed at New York and was greeted by Gloria Schletter, head of the hostess line. Soon I flagged a cab run by the Daiboch G Bindelglass Taxi Co. As l passed Carnegie Hall, l saw that Adriana Dominiani was the star performer. Moving down Broadway, l saw that the new Metropolitan Opera House, built by the Drago-Giaconia Co., was featuring June King, singing the lead in La Boheme. Nearby was the Majestic Theater, where Terry Thomas, Nancy Morse, and Marion Kamerling were starring in the Eternal Triangle , produced and directed by Anthony Cuva, with lighting and stage effects by Jerry Halperin, Cherie Boyarsky was conducting the Boston Pops and Pete Perry was their flute soloist. Dot Raziano was starring in her new show, Glamour in Space , with Roselee Lamandola, Grace Gagliano, Lorraine Capone, and Joan Cafora on the panel. The T.V. Comedy Hour was featuring Bernard Nathanson this season. After payihg the taxi-driver, I met Arlene Juba, who told me Arlene Jansak was operating an exclusive Fashion Salon, and Roberta Lampone and Bernice Rybak were modeling for her, l zipped up to Medical Center, where l was greeted by Dr, Harry Greenwald and Miss E, Wagenhoffer, Supervisor of Nurses. Recovering from a bad cold was Lorraine Baum, being cared for by her special nurse, Mary Lee Binns. Her visitors, Linda Frank and Zelda Bernstein, told me that Richard Shiffman is the new floor- walker at Kresges. BHZIIIB After leaving the hospital, l found myself headed for Montclair State Teach- er's College, where l met Jane Anthony, the noted professor of mathematics, who told me of so many of our classmates. She informed me that Rene Erlich is the head of the Department of Musical Therapy, while Roberta Alexander is a success- ful Physical Therapist. Esther Walter is now the new Advertising Director at Far- leigh Dickenson, and Julie Small is enjoying her work as Social Director at N. J. C. At the college, l picked up an international newspaper and found that Steve Hrushov was the head of diplomatic relations in Europe. l also saw that Pat Spring- er was in Queen Elizabeth's court, and Sue Eng was in Paris, designing Princess Anne's trousseau. Lois Bickoff is the prima ballerina for the Paris Ballet Company. Meanwhile, Esther Linick has made her debut in Vienna. Joe Best is the United States' new Ambassador to the U.N. Now l must visit good old Passaic before returning to Mars. ln Passaic l find that Fred Kobylarz is the new Mayor, Tommy Amlicke, Commissioner of Pub- lic Safety, Bart Maggio, Commissioner of Finance. The new High School has finally been erected. Leon Gottlieb is Principal and Arlene Gottlieb, Vice Principal. Elinor Elk is in charge of Guidance while Wanda Cebrowski and Sandra Garber are running the class for Sophomores, l-low to Get the Most from Your Study Period . While in the high school, l found a sports section of the Herald News, and soon learned that the All American Players Ronald Tezca, Ray Wolak, and Frank Salek are now playing pro-football, while Dan Dupirak has retired to a sweet, comfortable life of marital bliss. Also Joe Galdi is the football coach for Yale'S win- ning team and Martin Fein is lending a helpful hand. Eddie Berger and Bob Aikens are now famous marathon racers. Ohl here comes my space ship, and I must zoom back to Mars to meet my husband, John Mizenko, Sincerely yours. J ll .
